April 18, 2021 – Go behind the scenes at the Raymond Alf Museum of Paleontology with paleontologist, outreach educator and National Geographic Grosvenor Teacher Fellow Gabe Santos. Get a remote tour of the museum, renowned for its Hall of Footprints, and then go behind the scenes to tour the inner workings of a paleontology museum. Gabe will tell us about collection practices and oh, did we mention there is a cocktail/mocktail menu?

Gabriel Santos is a paleontologist and educator at the Alf Museum of Paleontology in Los Angeles, California. He received his B.Sc. in biology at University of California-Irvine, and his M.Sc. in geology at California State University-Fullerton. His previous research interests focused on the Eocene vertebrate fauna of Southern California and the paleobiology of marine mammals, particularly in the extinct hippo-like desmostylians. He now focuses his work on science education and accessibility of science through projects like the Cosplay for Science Initiative. He is also a National Geographic and Lindblad Expeditions Grosvenor Teacher Fellow.
