Event Description

Find out more about the SDDC honey bees and the impact of pollinators by vising the center to watch the honey bees throughout their lifecycle from egg, to larva, pupa, and finally adult. Every bee plays a part with the queen keeping the hive growing with her drones and worker bees creating beeswax to build honeycomb. As pollinators, these bees also play an important role in our local ecosystem, utilizing area plants as they fly in and out of the hive through a tube. Raising awareness about the importance of pollinators, World Bee Day takes place each year on May 20th.
